Version 0.2.0 Progress
Hello there!
Just here to write a devlog to update the current state of the game. I’m working diligently on version 0.2.0! This update is mostly a world-expansion, with nearly 50 new nodes/rooms/servers to explore, hack, and interact with.
As of right now, there are 6 areas in the game, based in the starting city of New Odonver:
-
Taelicorp Office
-
Rollen Park
-
Power Station 58
-
Max's Apartment
-
Odonver Strip Mall
-
Odonver Fiber
Each of these areas has anywhere from 2 to 20 different nodes, locked behind cycles, passwords, or other requirements.
I’ve also received TONS AND TONS of feedback from itch, Reddit, and IncrementalDB. Mostly harshly constructive, which is good! A lot of people are excited about the game, which makes me excited about the game.
I’ve implemented a huge amount of that feedback, including (but not limited to):
-
Uncluttering the help command
-
Auto-focusing the command input box
-
Fixing the usage for the home command
-
Tweaking the copy command to (hopefully) make it more reliable
-
A new image for when the cameras are turned off
-
Fixing the camera FOV bug that let you peek through walls
-
Being able to stop cycle processes from anywhere, and even stop all of them at once
-
Bringing the dev box back — see the last devlog if you want to know how to access it
-
Adding prefixes to cycles (1 KC, 1 MC, 1 GC, etc.)
-
Limiting the level of all servers, so you can tap one out and feel encouraged to move around
-
Adjusting game balance so early stages are much, much, much faster — like 10 seconds between early nodes
In any case, I’m looking forward to showing more as I get closer to the v0.2.0 release! Thanks for reading, and thanks for playing :)
